by Jacopo Negretti known as PALMA IL GIOVANE (Venice 1544 - 1628) "Nativity" Original etching by anonymous author, bearing on the bottom right the wording "Iacobus Palma Inventor" and referable to a painting listed on the monograph dedicated to the great painter of the Venetian Renaissance by Stefania Mason Rinaldi at number 131. Beautiful specimen printed on a portion of laid paper bearing an unidentified fragment of watermark, complete with the imprint of the slab on three sides and missing on the low one, slightly burnished uniformly and with slight traces of dirt and minimal other defects at the corners but overall in excellent general condition. Particularly rare sheet, not present on the repertoires except on the Huber-Winckler which cites a specimen with the title "Nativité de Jésus Christ" which is missing from ours but also from that of the British Museum collection.
